Halloween Phantasmagoria

Friday, October 27th
6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Phantasmagoria, noun: a bizarre or fantastic combination, collection or assemblage; a dreamlike state where real and imagined elements blur together; a magical event at Duke Homestead on October 27th.

You are invited to wander the property to see what wonders you can find. We won’t spoil the surprises, but we can tell you that this will be unlike any other Halloween experience you will have.

Did you come in past years? Come again! We have new encounters for you to experience.

No experiences are designed to scare, but some may not be appropriate for young children. Some content may be distressing to visitors and will have warning signs before encountering. Please feel free to call us with any questions about this! Participation will require walking and standing on uneven terrain. Dress appropriately for the weather, as the event is primarily outdoors. Bring your own flashlight!

The event will close at 9:30 pm, so we recommend arriving by 8:30 pm. Rain or shine.

Tickets: $10 plus tax in advance, $15 plus tax at the door. (Kids 3 & under free)

Tickets can be purchased in advance using the form below, or through the Eventbrite page HERE.

Tickets purchased in advance will be for a specific entrance time. Once you have checked in, you are welcome to stay as long as you like. Please do not arrive before your ticket time.

We are unable to offer refunds on purchased tickets. All cancelled tickets will be considered a donation to the site and will be used for future educational programming.

Event FAQ:

What will the terrain be like? What if I have limited mobility?
If this is the case for your group, please call the staff in advance of the event and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. The paths are clear but not completely paved. We have a rubber trail through the wooded part of the site, and otherwise have a grass lawn leading up to the historic house and a gravel road that leads back up to the visitor center. One building on this tour is not wheelchair accessible. Visitors will be standing or walking most of the time.

Will it be dark?
Yes, the event takes place from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. This is a bring your own flashlight event.

How will I be exploring the event? Is this a tour?
You will be moving through the historic area at your own pace. There are different historic scenes relating to Victorian concepts of awe, wonder, spiritualism, and Halloween that you can find and participate in.

How long will the event last?
The event runs from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, however you may spend as much time or as little as you want. Allow about an hour.
