Summer Children's Festival

Duke Homestead is putting on its fourth annual Summer Children's Festival on Saturday August 9th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free festival invites families all over Durham, the Triangle, and NC to come and play with us! Join  in a day of free music, games, arts and crafts, and historic activities perfect for families and kids of all ages.

This festival will be filled with make and take crafts and kid's activities for a full day of fun! There will be lots of great guests to meet and greet from our local Fire and Police Department to local owls with Piedmont wildlife.

It's hands-on history in the Duke's historic home where kids can bake cookies the old fashioned way and try on life from another century with our dress-up trunk in the parlor. Kids of all ages will enjoy playing with our 19th century games and toys to the sounds of live fiddle and banjo music.
